Head Coach Charley Myers has been a fixture on the Mid-Atlantic soccer scene for many years starting at age four. As a young player in Baltimore, he played for top club teams at the time, wining many of the top tournaments such as the Roland Cup and the Stewart Cup.  He played his high school soccer at Overlea HS, winning Baltimore County league and state championships. He was an All-Metro player for all four years of his playing career in addition to playing for the Apollo team scoring thirty-five goals in one season and being a semi-finalist for the national cup.

After leaving high school Charley played four years at the University of Baltimore where he was an All- American for four years. In his senior year the team won the NCAA Championship and Charlie was the Most Valuable Player at the NCAA tournament.  He was then drafted into the NASL professional soccer league and played for the Dallas Tornado’s and the New York Cosmos. During his professional career he played with great international players like Pele and Kyle Rote. Recently, Charley has been honored by being inducted into the University of Baltimore Hall of Fame and also the Maryland Sports Hall of Fame. Charley resides in Baltimore and has two daughters. His youngest daughter Ashley is currently a starting soccer player on a Penn State University that is consistently nationally ranked under Head Coach Erica Walsh. She was recently names to the Big Ten Academic All Conference team which shows the values that Coach Myers has instilled in his daughters about the importance of school and using college to prepare for your professional career.

Soccer is his life passion as anyone that has either played for or observed Charley on the sidelines or at his team practices knows. His training sessions are tough, intense and designed to make the player the best they can be. In our team training sessions he concentrates on:

Establishing a good work ethic

Technical skills with speed of play

The proof is in the pudding so they say. From his players that went on to play for the Bethesda Excell to the current BSC Bays 93 team that has 14 regional players on its roster, the intensity and dedication to his team toward development of the players, fitness and technical skills make it clear that Charley Myers is one of the best youth coaches in America.
